The Luc in Suikoden II is anti-social and quiet. He makes it plain that he doesn't want to be there. And he still dies really easily in battle.  -_-;;

The Futch in Suikoden II is much changed from the brat in Suikoden I. Mourning over the loss of his dragon from Suikoden I, he's quieted down a lot... although he can still be really reckless.

RICHMOND

Richmond is a private investigator with a heart of gold. He takes care of the cat (yes, cat) in his shirt because everyone else thought it was ugly. He also helps... convince Shu to join your party by tricking Shu into it.  And his comments about all the other characters are great fun and sometimes very helpful!

Hot-headed and stubborn, it's appropriate that Seed uses a fire rune. He's skilled in battle and a deadly opponent.

CULGAN

Culgan is cool, calm, and collected. Like Seed, his partner, he's skilled in battle and makes a deadly opponent.

FLIK

I didn't particularly like Flik in Suikoden I, but by Suikoden II, he's had time to grow up, mature, and become a level-headed leader. Go, Flik! Unfortunately, he has a bad habit of angsting about his lost love.

VIKTOR

Viktor hasn't changed much from Suikoden I to Suikoden II. He's still a strong, cheerful, loveable ol' bear of a guy!

JILLIA

I was determined to hate Jillia. She commits the ultimate sin of marrying Jowy, after all. So... how did I end up liking her?!

She's strong-willed, intelligent, and she doesn't swoon and cry like other females can. She's smart enough to know her marriage is a sham. But because she supports his ideals (and perhaps loves him), she's goes through with it, anyway. And when Jowy needs to let her go, she lets him. I greatly admired Jillia.

NANAMI

 Nanami is Hero 2's sister. She's very protective of her little brother, and has been known to beat up the bullies who hurt him. She's naturally cheerful and playful, but she isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Her antics are fun, and I never minded having her in my party. A useful character when given the right rune! ^_^

PESMERGA

He never says anything. His goal in life is to hunt down Yuber. Ah... gotta love the strong, silent type!  -_-;

SID
Gender: Male

Sid is really, really, really weird.  As in, he's probably insane. Despite being a Winger (and therefore being able to fly), he likes spending time underground. He buries the bones of the fish he eats, and his favorite past-time is telling scary stories to kids.

STALLION

Stallion wants to be the fastest person alive. Why, just by joining your party, you yourself become faster!  *lol*

JEANE

You have to love Viki... if simply because she can transport you places. Much quicker than walking.

Um... they have a unite attack together, and neither of them talk very much.  What Hero 2 is going through in Suikoden II, Hero 1 has gone through already.  I can see Hero 1 acting in an advisory way, and comforting Hero 2 when things go wrong.

MIKLOTOV / CAMUS

Suikoden II is rife with partner/friend pairings.  Miklotov & Camus are no exception.  They work together, respect each other, and would do anything to help the other out. 

SEED / CULGAN

They're partners with very different personalities. Seed is hot-headed, while Culgan is calm and rational.  They were an immediate interest.

If they answer, "He sucked!" they didn't bother leveling up either him or his skills.  In fact, he's a damn powerful character... who begins as the weakest.  -_-;;  Never underestimate the weak-looking characters!

CECILE

He's incredibly lazy, prefering to look at the clouds and nap the day away.  Unfortunately for him, he's also a genius strategist from the legendary Silverberg family.  A strategist's work is never done (unless he can hide from it).

VIKI

GEDDOE / HUGO

Geddoe has lived a very, very long time, has experienced a lot, and therefore is pretty calm and collected. Hugo is new and inexperienced. Both could benefit from the other's presence; Geddoe passing on his wisdom (especially as a true rune bearer), and Hugo would liven up Geddoe's world.

These two... never interact within the game at all, darn it! I wanted scenes, I tell you, scenes!!

SASARAI / LUC

The relationship between Luc and Sasarai has been fascinating ever since Suikoden II. I waited most of the game to hear why exactly Luc hated Sasarai, even though Sasarai didn't remember him. I both liked and hated the answer, as it made the possibilities of yaoi between the two much harder to pull off...

THOMAS / HUGO

Thomas should have been the main character, but wasn't. Instead, he gets to act as a sort of advisor and housekeeper for whomever the True Fire Rune Bearer is. (Oh well.)  He gets one or two nifty scenes with Hugo.

I don't know... I like how they seem to balance the other's quirks and faults.

THOMAS / CECILE

Cecile is so cutely devoted to Thomas, and Thomas cares and respects her. They're just... well, cute!

ELENOR

Elenor's experience shows in her attitude and her words. She's been through wars, seen people do bad things, and more than anything wants to be left alone... until she's given no choice but to help. She's a troubled character who tries to drown her sorrows in alcohol.

It's been a running gag in previous Suikoden games to have the name " Schtolteheim Reinbach" in it somewhere.  They finally made a character who's name really is Schtolteheim Reinbach!

Reinbach comes from an aristocratic family, and was probably one of the founding narcissists. He's the one who commissions the rose broach, also seen in previous games. a silly, fun character! ^_^

SIGURD

He once worked for Reinbach's aristocratic family, but was taken in by Kika's band of pirates and hasn't been back since. A cool, calm character.

TAL

Like Keneth, Tal has known Hero 4 for awhile, and is very protective of him. He's the first to speak up if he thinks a decision will harm the hero.

TROY
Gender: Male

Gah... ChiByakko predicted I would be a fangirl for Troy.  Boy, was she right...

Honorable, a tough opponent, and commands the respect of his troops.  A bit too honorable...  I prayed the entire game he would join Hero 4's side, knowing he wouldn't.  *sigh*

VIKI

*sob, sob*  If I hadn't been able to get Viki relatively early in the game, I would have probably quit the game!  She's the only thing which makes it bearable getting from one island to another.

HERO 4 / SNOWE

Snowe and Hero 4 have been friends since they were little, when Snowe's father took Hero 4 in.  Since then, they've been inseparable.  ...Until events (and Snowe's cowardly actions) separate them.

I HATED Snowe for a good portion of the game.  Finally, I was able to forgive him.  He's so changed when he reappears again that the poor boy needs some heavy-duty encouragement.  I hope Hero 4 can give him the help he needs!  ~.O

HERO 4 / TROY

Honorable, self-sacrificing, and dedicated to what they consider the greater good... They're remarkably similar, but spend the entire game on opposite sides of the comflict.

SIGURD / HERVEY

Sigurd and Hervey have been partners since joining Kika's band of pirates. Hervey's passionate personality is a great foil to Sigurd's cool and calm attitude.
