10 FAVORITE MUSIC VIDEOS
CRITERIA FOR PICKING A MUSIC VIDEO: Was the video technically well made?  Did it keep my interest through the entire thing?  How many times did I watch the video over?  Did I want to show it to all my friends?

1

"A SONG FOR EVERYONE"
ie, "FURUBA TV"
Creator: RubyHatchet
Fandom:
Fruits Basket
Song:
various
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

There are actually two installments of this video, and both are more than worth a look for any Fruits Basket fan!  It goes through individual characters, set to theme music.  The creator choses perfect songs to fit the characters.  You'll crack up!  Mostly humerous, with a few serious character profiles.

2

"SHOUNEN BUSHIDOU"
Creator:
istiv
Fandom:
multiple anime
Song:
"Spirit Never Dies" by Masterplan
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

This has nearly every single shounen (boy) anime known to man, and then some (for the time)!  I call this the "see how many shows you can name" video.  Well-timed, and the creator choses just the right people to sing the lines.  Great fun for any shounen anime/manga fan, or for anyone who may want to get into it!

3

"TOUSHI"
Creators:
MaijinKenshinAMV & ccwarnick
Fandom:
Naruto
Song:
"Goodbye" by SR-71
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

Wonderful action video on Naruto, with many different, well-chosen moments from the anime.  It's incredibly fast paced, which fits with the song.  I love it!

4

"STORYTELLING: A Gothic Fairytale"
Creators: AbsoluteDestiny
Fandom: Sweat Punch 3
Song: Various songs from "Edward Scissorhands" soundtrack
Link: animemusicvideos.org

I've never seen the anime this comes from, but the video is fun.  A simple, but well done video.  It has the feel of an old-style fairy tale.

5

"MEMORIES DANCE"
Creator:
Vlad G Pohnert
Fandom:
Multiple Miyazaki fims (Castle in the Sky, Porco Rosso, Nausicaa, etc.)
Song:
"The Mummers' Dance" by Loreena McKennit
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

The video includes Miyazaki films starting from Princess Mononoke and before.  It captures the wonderful spirit of his films, blending each one together with subtle, but perfect effects.  Very moving.

6

"LORD OF THE SENNEN RINGU"
Creator:
FireFreak Ryuuka
Fandom:
Yu-Gi-Oh
Song:
"The Two Towers" commercial trailer
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

Wow, I had no idea idea that Yu-Gi-Oh could fit so well to the trailer of "Lord of the Rings!"  Bwa ha ha ha!  ^_^  I'm highly impressed; the scenes chosen fit perfectly with the movie.  The creator also made a second one, to "Return of the King," just as good as the first one.

7

"DATE RAPE"
Creator:
aielI_Ileia
Fandom:
Full Metal Alchemist
Song:
"Date Rape" by Sublime
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

Bwa ha ha ha ha~~~!!!  Who knew the subject of date rape could be turned into a funny as hell comedy with an underlying theme of revenge/empowerment?

Note: The characters' personalities in the video bear no resemblance to the actual characters.  ^_^

8

"BEHIND THE PIRATE: CAPTAIN HAMPTON"
Creator:
ZennMora
Fandom:
One Piece
Song:
"Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates" by Aquabats!
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

If I had to show a single music video on One Piece to introduce the anime to someone who's never seen it before, this would be the video.  It perfectly captures the humor and overall feel of the show.  In fact, the music video made me curious about the anime.  It's what got me started on One Piece!

9

"NARUTO'S TECHNIQUE BEAT"
Creator:
.:Decoy:.
Fandom:
Naruto
Song:
"Seizure of Power" by Marilyn Manson
Link:
animemusicvideos.org

O.o;;  Very impressive special effects.  The video goes through the different techniques of select genin - Sasuke, Neji, Lee, Gaara, Naruto - and highlights it to music.  Um... I already said impressive, right?  Purely from a fanfic writer point of view, the video is wonderful, going over the major techniques of some equally major characters.

10

"LUCIFER - IN HIS HEAD "
Creator: Neiru
Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Song: "In My Head" by Pale 3
Link: animemusicvideos.org

My friend over at twilightvisions.org painstakingly cut out every picture of Lucifer/Kira/etc in the 20-volume manga, then edited out all the text, then put text back in where needed, THEN put it all in a fast-paced music video.

The first half is mostly Kira/Lucifer looking pretty.  The second half has manga plot and are MAJOR SPOILERS.  It doesn't feel like a slideshow, more like it's actually animated.  And it's finally convinced me to read the friggin' manga, which is really impressive.
