DOROTHY / RELENA
Gundam Wing
Relena and Dorothy begin as schoolmates in the school that Relena establishes, and Dorothy quickly glues herself to Relena's side, flattering and praising the girl. Despite this, they have different views, which Dorothy is happy to express if given the opportunity.
The pairing was born partly from the sparks that rose from the two, and partly from desperation. I wanted Heero with Duo, not with Relena, and Quatre with Trowa, not with Dorothy. But they were both cool females, and deserved a cool counterpart - Relena especially deserved someone better than Heero. |

SAKURA / INO
Naruto
Sakura and Ino have been rivals over Sasuke's attentions for years, always forcing the other to do better, for fear that if they fall behind, the other will capture Sasuke.
Before that, though, they were best friends. Whatever claims to self-esteem Sakura has is directly because of Ino's encouragement when they were small children.
Quite simply, these two need each other, and Sasuke could never live up to Sakura's expectations. |

UKYO / AKANE
Ranma 1/2
Akane is a tomboy who studies martial arts and has a quick-flash temper. Ukyo is a girl masquerading as a guy, with the skills to back it up. They're also two of the three fiancee's which Ranma manages to accumulate.
Hmm... I began liking this pairing because of fanfiction. Akane once stated that she hated boys. While this isn't exactly true, it's fun to take it literally, and decide she must like girls instead. And any relationship with Ranma would be disastrous. |
