5 FAVORITE TRAITS IN BISHOUNEN
Everyone has things they look for when watching new anime or manga. This is generally what I look for when finding male characters I like. ^_^

PROTECTIVENESS
This one trait shows beyond a doubt that an anime/manga/game guy cares about the person they’re protecting in some way. So if a character has no tendency toward protectiveness, they seem uncaring or disconnected from their loved ones. It’s hard for me to like a character that doesn’t have this trait.

CHARACTER GROWTH/DEVELOPMENT
If I start out hating a character, there’s a good chance I’ll like them later in the story. When a character I love does not grow, they disappoint me. They lose an important part about being a person. One the other hand, a character that annoys me, that discovers something and changes into something better, is a character I admire. I notice this beyond a doubt, and value growing, changing, developing characters more than anything else. |

LONG, BLOND OR SILVER HAIR
Okay, I’m shallow. Long hair is pretty. Silver and gold look GOOD in an anime character.

PLAYFULNESS OR INNOCENCE
There’s something sweet in this that I can’t help but fall in love with. I like to see happy, innocent characters that cheer others up. They just make me feel good. |

LOGIC
Characters who have undeniable intelligence, and stick to their train of logic, even if it isn’t the one you want to see. Often times this character “betrays” another, though they usually don’t change their goal/opinion/affiliation at all. They always have more thoughts in their head than they can make other characters see. It’s fun to piece together their thoughts. I have a real weakness for these strong minds. |
