AUTHOR NOTE

If you wanna know what types of things to expect... and what not to expect... in my stories, you're in a good place to find that out!

I Like

Romance
Love makes the world go 'round, whether it's between a male and female, male and male, or female and female. ^_^ All I can say is that I read too many romance novels in high school.

Monogamy
In stories, couples don't have to be monogamous - the characters forgive and forget, or they consider it a sexy treat. But having seen first-hand exactly what kind of damage sleeping around can cause, I lost all taste for it.

Angst
Despite not liking rape and character death, I'm a big fan of angst - well done angst, that is. Make it deep, emotional, and well written, and I will hang on every single word.

Lemons
Yup, stories with X-rated content. I absolutely adore a well-written lemon. ...But you probably won't see me writing very many, as I always feel silly when I do.

YAOI!
Last but not least, I fell in love with yaoi and shounen-ai, ie, boy x boy romance.  As such, I'm suddenly getting into a lot of shounen anime & manga, where it's easy to see shounen-ai if one is looking for it. ^_^

I Dislike

Rape
I hate seeing rape in stories, more than even character death. Nothing will get me to stop reading a story faster than the insertion of a rape or rape-like scene. The idea of rape is overused and badly done - it's used as a cheap plot device to get two favorite characters together, with a sprinkling of emotional "depth." Even well-handled rape leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I avoid the stuff like the plague.

Character death
Like rape, this is overused in stories. It comes across as a cheap plot device to (a) get two unlikely characters together, or (b) to make the remaining half of the pairing angst. I like my pairings whole and healthy.

Unhappy endings
What can I say? I'm a happy ending addict. I get depressed easily enough on my own - I don't need any help, thank you.

Mary Sues
The bane of the fanfiction world... In essence, "Mary Sue's" are stories where the author has inserted themselves into the fanfic, but the author refuses to admit it. They're pure hearted, beautiful, intelligent, witty, etc, etc. They have perfect bodies, and end up with the author's favorite character. Overall, they are very, very boring to read.
