NOTES: Fushimi Inari was impressive for the sheer number and size of arches. There were hundreds, thousands... no, really. ChiByakko will quite happily say that she explored every single path. ^^;
NOTES: This was part of a temple in Kyoto. It was early in the morning, and monks in traditional robes were just beginning to wander around. NOTES: Fushimi Inari had more than just arches; there were shrines like this all over the place. They were fun to look at. It seemed that people could buy mini-arches and put them by/on shrines like these...

NOTES: This was just a place to wash your hands/drink water. Sorry, I don't know the history behind these... but they were really handy in 100 degree weather!
NOTES: Part of a bigger shrine/temple, these were some buildings that hadn't been restored in awhile, and it showed... but there was still something about them...
NOTES: We encountered these two statues in a temple, just off to the side.

NOTES: All the lotus blossoms blooming in Ueno Park when we were there were absolutely gorgeous... but it was so hard to capture with pictures. This is my attempt.
NOTES: Also part of Ueno Park (it had everything!), these were just part of a walkway. We found a very small shrine/temple further on.
